Supporters of Syrian President attack US and French embassies

The crisis in Syria has taken another dimension with the supporters of the president Bashar al-Assad attacking the embassies of United States of America and France that are located in the capital Damascus.

The United States Department of State has already reacted to the development and accused the Syrian government of failing to protect its embassy. US government demanded compensation from the Syrian government although there was no casualty in the incident.

Workers in the French embassy were wounded when the supporters of the president attacked the embassy. Guards attached to the French embassy fired on the air to dispel the rioters.

This incident occurred after the ambassadors of the United States of America and France visited the restive town of Hama last week. The ambassadors of both countries visited Hama separately and they expressed their solidarity with the protesters who have being protesting to overthrow the government of President Assad.

This seemed to have angered the supporters of the president as they staged a protest at the embassies of the two countries. French government officials have said that 3 of the workers were hurt by the protesters. The French government described the attack as against international law. The spokesperson said that guard fired on the air to dispel the rioters.
